The crossroads advantage

Two of the busiest interstates in North Carolina intersect in our home town. I-77 carries everything between Charlotte and the Virginia line; I-40 carries everything between the mountains and the Triad. When a car gives up along either one, the default move is a tow to whatever shop is nearest the exit — sight unseen, joining a queue behind every other tow that day.

There's often a better move. Questions people ask

Should I wait with the car on the interstate shoulder?
If the car is on the shoulder of I-77 or I-40, your first call should be *511 or 911 so the Highway Patrol knows it's there — and get everyone out of the car and well away from traffic, behind the guardrail if there is one. We'd rather meet you at the next exit's parking lot than have you standing on a live shoulder. If the car truly can't move, tell us; we'll advise whether a mechanic or a short tow to the nearest exit is the safer play.
Is a mobile mechanic cheaper than a tow?
Usually, when the fix is roadside-sized. A failed battery, alternator, serpentine belt, or cooling hose can often be fixed where the car sits for less than the tow alone would cost — and you skip the shop's waiting line entirely. If we diagnose it and it's not roadside-fixable, you've spent a diagnostic fee to make the right call instead of towing blind.
What breakdowns can you actually fix on the roadside?
Dead batteries and charging failures, starters, belts, overheating from hoses and thermostats, fuel pumps on many vehicles, and no-start diagnosis. What we can't do on a shoulder we can often do in the nearest parking lot. Transmissions, internal engine failure, and anything needing a lift bay means a tow — and we'll tell you that on the phone before you spend anything.
Do you cover the whole corridor?
We cover I-77 roughly from the Lake Norman exits up past Elkin, and I-40 from the Hickory side across through Statesville toward the Davie County line — plus US-70, US-21, NC-150, and the rest of the surface roads in between.
