Transmission Fluid Service

Drain-and-fill with the exact ATF or CVT fluid your transmission requires, plus filter where serviceable.

Transmission fluid breaks down under heat and most 'lifetime' fluid isn't. A drain-and-fill every 30,000–60,000 miles with the correct fluid keeps shifts smooth and the valve body clean. We use the manufacturer-specific fluid — Honda DW-1, Toyota WS, Nissan NS-3, Mercon LV, Dexron VI — because the wrong one causes shudder and slipping.

Signs you need transmission fluid service

  • Harsh or delayed shifts
  • Shudder at light throttle
  • Fluid is dark or smells burnt
  • Past the service interval or history unknown
  • Slipping under load

What we do on site

  1. Check fluid level, condition, and scan for transmission codes
  2. Drain the pan (and drop it to replace the filter where serviceable)
  3. Refill with the exact specified fluid to the correct level at temperature
  4. Perform a relearn or adaptation reset if required
  5. Road-test and confirm shift quality

Doing this in a driveway

Drain-and-fills and pan services are mobile. We don't rebuild or replace transmissions.

Parts we use

Manufacturer-specified ATF or CVT fluid, pan gasket, filter where applicable.

Pricing: Moderate; the fluid itself is the main cost on newer transmissions. Every job is quoted in writing before we start, and there's no upsell — how our pricing works.

FAQ

Transmission Fluid Service: common questions

Should I flush or drain-and-fill?
Drain-and-fill. It's gentler on high-mileage units and, done twice, replaces most of the fluid. We don't recommend forced flushes on neglected transmissions.
My transmission is sealed with no dipstick — can you service it?
Yes. Sealed units have a fill plug and require setting the level at a specific temperature with a scan tool, which we do.
